Room Pressure Sensor Placement
As a general rule, pressure sensors should always be placed away from any turbulent air. Placement near windows or doors, and supply or exhaust vents should always be avoided.
Fume Hood Sensor Placement
For fume hood installations, sensor location is extremely important, and is dependent on the type of fume hood arrangement (by-pass or non-by-pass).
As a general rule, sensors should always be located six inches above the lowest part of the sash when in a fully open position and at least six inches away from any inlet or exhaust that could create turbulence. Air turbulence sources include, but are not limited to, air diffusers, by-pass inlets, pedestrian traffic, and the sash itself.
Position of the P1 port is very important. To function properly, the port must be referenced to laboratory air and also should be located away from air turbulence.
